We want the hwkeeper.com website and the HWKeeper dashboard to be usable by everyone, including people who rely on a keyboard, a screen reader, high contrast or large text. This page describes what we do today, what still needs work, and how to tell us about a problem.
1. Our standard
We aim to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. We have not yet commissioned an independent accessibility audit, so we do not claim full conformance; the list below describes the current state honestly.
2. What is in place
- Pages use semantic HTML: one main heading per page, a logical heading order, lists, tables with header cells, and landmarks for navigation and content.
- Every informative image on the website has a text alternative in the language of the page; decorative icons are hidden from assistive technology.
- The website and the dashboard can be operated with a keyboard: menus, tabs, the language menu, the cookie banner and forms are reachable with Tab and activated with Enter or Space.
- Light and dark themes with sufficient contrast for text; the theme follows your system setting and can be switched manually.
- Text can be enlarged with the browser’s zoom up to 200% without loss of content; layouts adapt to narrow screens.
- The slideshow on the home page has a pause button and does not rely on colour alone to convey state.
- Form fields have visible labels, and errors are reported in text next to the field.
- No content flashes, and nothing plays automatically with sound.
3. Known limitations
- The maps and charts in the dashboard (fleet timeline, uptime calendar, network and location maps) convey information visually; the same data is available in the tables next to them, but the charts themselves are not yet described for screen readers.
- Some status information in tables is shown with colour and a short tag; we are reviewing all of them to make sure the tag text is sufficient on its own.
- PDF reports generated by the dashboard are not yet tagged for screen readers.
- The service is translated into ten languages; the accessibility of right-to-left languages has not been evaluated because none is offered yet.
4. Tell us about a problem
If something on the website or in the dashboard is hard or impossible to use for you, please write to privacy@hwkeeper.com and tell us the page, what you tried to do and which assistive technology or browser you use. We reply within a few business days and fix confirmed problems in the normal release cycle.
5. Updates
We update this statement when the state of the service changes; the date of the current version is shown at the top of the page.
