Cookie Policy

This page lists every cookie and every browser storage entry used by the hwkeeper.com website and the HWKeeper dashboard, explains what each one is for and how long it lives, and shows how to change your choice. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies and browser storage are

A cookie is a small text record that a website stores in your browser and that the browser sends back with later requests. Browser storage (localStorage) works similarly, but it stays in your browser and is never sent to the server by itself. We use both only for the purposes listed below. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell data.

2. Public website (hwkeeper.com)

_ga_*cookie (Google Analytics)Keeps the state of the current visit for the same purpose.Up to 2 years

The website loads its fonts from our own server and does not request them from Google or other third parties.

3. Dashboard (after sign-in)

These entries are strictly necessary: without them you cannot stay signed in or keep your interface settings. They are not used for analytics and are not shared with anyone.

NameTypePurposeLifetime
hw_sessioncookieA flag that tells the site you are signed in, so that the dashboard pages open and the sign-in page does not. It does not contain your password or token.7 days
hw_token, hw_refresh_tokenbrowser storageYour sign-in tokens. The access token is valid for 15 minutes and is renewed with the refresh token, which is valid for 30 days.Until you sign out, or 30 days

hw-theme, hw-branding, hw-notif-prefs, hw_nav_open and similar hw_* entriesbrowser storageInterface settings: theme, menu state, dismissed notices, chosen views.Until you clear your browser data

The dashboard contains no analytics, no advertising and no social media scripts. It loads map tiles, map icons and country flags from OpenStreetMap, unpkg.com and flagcdn.com; these requests show those services your browser’s IP address but set no cookies of ours.

4. Analytics and your consent

  • We use Google Analytics 4 on the public website only, to see which pages are useful. Advertising features and Google Signals are turned off, so Google does not use these visits for ads personalisation on our behalf.
  • In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland analytics is off until you click “Allow” in the banner. Google receives no analytics data from your visit until then (Consent Mode v2).
  • Elsewhere analytics is on by default and you can turn it off at any time with “Decline” in the banner or via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page.
  • Your choice is stored in hw_consent and applies to this browser only.

5. How to change or withdraw your choice

  • Click Cookie settings in the footer of any page of the website: the banner opens again and you can choose “Allow” or “Decline”.
  • Delete the site data for hwkeeper.com in your browser settings: the banner will appear again on your next visit.
  • Block cookies for hwkeeper.com in your browser. The website will keep working; in the dashboard you will not be able to stay signed in.
  • Install Google’s browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics on all websites.

6. Changes

If we add or remove a cookie or a storage entry, we update this page and the date at the top. Questions: privacy@hwkeeper.com.
